On the road to Minnesota

A lot of river and lakes like this
Drove by here it was great

Map The A is Bemidji and you can click on pics to see what it is like. have fun

Check out the Map of Mn. its great.. The life of a traveling man. I think I about covered the whole state in 4 days. I put over 1500 miles on the rental car and traveled at night so I could be to each apt in the morning. The Northern part of Minnesota is beautiful the southern was a lot of farm land. This week I traveled to Bemidji, Duluth, Brainard, St Cloud, Hudson (Wisconsin), Marshall and Applevalley and of Eagan.
It was a long but good trip there are great people up there and beautiful landscape. There truly is 10,000 lakes, they are every where. I was where the Mississippi river starts that is cool to think of.

I was told by a friend that he was working in February and it was a balmy -5 f with the sun out and no wind. They packed up and headed to the yard 1hr away when the got there it was -30f by the time he made it home it was -50f. I don't care who you are that is just COLD. I am looking forward to those nice winter trips :)

A sad sad day

It is official the end of summer is here. Last Saturday we winterized the boat. It was a family event. Amber and Carmyn attacked the inside and I did the outside. It took just over 4 hours to complete. But it is waxed top to bottom, fluids drained and replaced and the inside is all cleaned up. It looks beautiful. You never know how big a boat is until you wax and buff the entire thing.
This year boating was a blast we made great new friends skied enough to enjoy life and Carmyn took her first adventure ski’s. This must be the best family sport ever.

Daddy Time

I know this is very manly, but I had to. There is always something fun about Dad. Just think back in life, Dad is always the one to come home and get everything all wound up and have a good time. Now I am the one that gets to do that for my own kid.

So Breakfast is always fun. Carmyn has come to love Sat mornings when I bring out the whole wheat pancake smothered with peanut butter and maple syrup. Along with banana for fruit and chocolate milk for dairy.

Then comes dinner. Our friend Angela gave us a great recipe for sweet beans and you know how I love to cook. So I made it. Carmyn devoured it. I also made tater tots to go with in upon Amber’s request. She devoured them to.

After a great day of eating we were off to the bath. And we had a blast! Carmyn helped with putting the the bubble bath. Which lead to 3 inches of bubbles. I started putting the bubbles on her. She caught on and started putting bubbles on me to. She was laughing so hard it was great.

Being a Dad is awesome. Its times like these that you cherish and remember.

The Sled Show

http://

I was able to make it to the sled show this year. It was a miracle. I was in Utah for business and a week early for the sled show but since Halloween was on Sat they bumbed the show up a week. I know I sold my sled in the spring but I still keep up on the industry and dream on what I want when I get back to the Mountains. (that will be a conversation for another day)
The advances in technology is amazing we are able to do things to the sleds that we used to dream about. This year Cats 800 is producing 162 hp out of the box and is 20 lbs lighter than last year. It should be tipping the scales around 450 and under.
Polaris came out with a new "ditch banger" (good for racing and hitting all the whoops not the hills) it looks like it should do well on the snow.
I will get you more up to date as the days grow closer to snow fall.

Until then enjoy these trailors

American Classic

Almost two and a half years ago my Dad purchased an old 59 Corvette. I cannot find the old pics of what it looked like but let me say this. The engine was out so we pushed it onto the trailor. Not one piece of chrome was on it and I had to carry the hood and trunk. Needless to say it has taken on a dramatic change for the better. Today it is back to original!! It is gorgeous to say the least. Back then you could purchase this car right around $3500. To get the stripe was a whooping $16.
When I was back in Utah we took this prize on the road. It was great fun driving with the top off and getting all the thumbs up from the old men and the stares from the younger guys. This truely is a Classic American Car.
I hope to one day restore a classic like this until then I will admire this one.

Ambers Marathon

Well Amber did it! I have to take my hat off to her on this one. She ran the half marathon today and did great!!! CONGRATS to her. The conditions were not the best. It rained the night before. They started running at 7am. and the temp was 40. By the end of the race it warmed up to a balmy 43. She was cold and happy to be done!

I do not have it in me to go out and run 13 miles. I have been inspired by my wife and started running. I tend to do about half of what she does. So on a great day I will run 6 miles but on average day I do around 4-5 miles, and that is plenty. So for all of you who run half to full marathons you have my respect.
